We offer individual, group lodging and group meeting spaces. When you choose to stay with us for a day, a weekend, or a week, you have use of the labyrinth, the bonfire circle, the vortex, the butterfly garden, hiking trails, and all common areas. 

All facilities except for the Yummy Yurt are pet friendly with permission.

The Grove House

The Grove House

Lodging Capacity: 18

Situated adjacent to the labyrinth and the vortex, the Grove House is our primary retreat house.

The Grove House can accommodate up to 18 people, making it an expansive and comfortable option for retreats or families. The first floor features three bedrooms and two full baths, complemented by a spacious, open kitchen and dining area with two dining tables seating up to 12 people. The seamless blow from the kitchen into the inviting living room provides guests with ample space to gather and spend quality time together.

The second floor offers captivating views of the labyrinth, ceremonial dance arbor, and the vortex. In addition to these scenic views, the second floor comprises a library and sitting area. There are also two dorm-style bedrooms on this floor—one with five twin beds and the other with four twin beds and one full-sized bed. Each of these bedrooms is equipped with its own half-bath, providing convenience and comfort for guests during their stay.


The Log House

The Log House at is a charming hand-built cabin featuring three bedrooms and two baths. Designed with comfort in mind, it boasts a full-sized, well-stocked kitchen and a large, inviting living room. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with queen beds, while the third bedroom offers four twin beds. This home is ideal for families or small retreats seeking a cozy and intimate setting. The spacious back porch, adorned with rocking chairs and a swing, provides a tranquil space where guests often linger to enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the retreat center and listen to the soothing sounds of nature.

The Thoreau Cabin is a rustic and private cabin, ideal for an individual seeking a personal retreat or a couple in search of a romantic getaway. This cozy cabin features a queen bed, a sleeping loft with a double-sized futon, a coffee maker with fresh ground coffee, a small refrigerator, a deluxe Jacuzzi tub, and a compostable toilet. Designed as a retreat within the retreat, the Thoreau Cabin provides a secluded and serene space for individuals or couples to unwind and reconnect with nature.

This enchanting facility beckons you to step into an earthly room of quiet introspection and heavenly personal elevation. This magical, circular cocoon includes a futon couch and offers access to outdoor hot showers and composting toilets. An outdoor kitchen with a grill, a table for two, and a sink adds to the charm of this unique and immersive experience.

Yummy Yurt

Lodging Capacity: 2 to 4 

The Yummy Yurt lives up to its name – it’s absolutely “YUMMY”! At night, being surrounded by the circle of white lights creates a truly enchanting atmosphere. Staying in a round space is truly special! The energy envelops you and is palpable, creating a unique and immersive experience. Stepping into the Yummy Yurt is like entering a cocoon of peace, tranquility, and magic. A comfortable couch, a sitting/eating/writing area, and a comfortable futon to sleep on, make this a favorite place to stay. When it rains, the sound of raindrops on the canvas creates its own soothing concert.
Outside the Yummy Yurt, there is a dedicated fire pit for your personal use. With no light pollution, the night sky transforms into a breathtaking canvas adorned with stunning stars. Guests staying in the Yummy Yurt have access to the Shower Shed, featuring 2 outdoor hot showers and 2 composting toilets. Adjacent to the shed is a covered area equipped with an outdoor charcoal grill, a table and chairs, and an outdoor sink. This setup provides a delightful outdoor experience for guests to enjoy the natural surroundings.

GATHERING SPACE

Grandmother Yurt

Meeting capacity: 30-40 each

Sacred Grove Retreat Center’s celebrations, concerts, and workshops are held in the Grandmother Yurt. This is a 30-foot in diameter circular structure, representing a modern adaptation of the ancient shelter used for centuries by Central Asian nomads. It inspires unity and cohesiveness for participants, as well as creative inspiration.

Ideal for small corporate events, workshops, weddings, and yoga retreats  the yurt is heated and air conditioned and offers wonderful acoustics.

The Grandmother Yurt can be rented Monday-Thursday or as an add on for your weekend retreat. Our Weekday North Carolina accommodation include use of a kitchen and bathroom facilities.

The Grandmother Yurt can be added on to your rental of a lodging space for an additional $250 for the weekend. One day rental of the Yurt for an event is $250 if there is no lodging

The Vortex

A vortex is formed by spiraling energy and creates a space to facilitate prayer, meditation and healing. The vortex on site is encircled by a grove of pin oak trees, from which the retreat center derives its name. The energy experienced by standing there is palpable to many. This is a popular gathering spot featuring four Adirondack chairs, several benches, and other chairs for guests to relax, engage in conversation, meditate, and experience the unique energy of the vortex.

The Labyrinth

Labyrinths can be found etched into the floors of many old cathedrals in Europe. Our seven-circuit outdoor labyrinth is lined with white stones and can be used for a walking meditation; centering; quieting the mind; prayer; healing; problem-solving; and connecting with Spirit. It is a great tool to use for letting go of things that no longer serve you.

With gently rolling paths on-site, you can enjoy an early morning or late afternoon stroll around Sacred Grove Retreat Center’s 11 scenic acres. As you walk the trails, you are escorted each step of the way by a deeply felt sense of peace and serenity. Let nature itself guide you along the way and you will always find your way back home.

The Butterfly Garden was planted in a figure 8 (or infinity sign) and includes miniature Magnolias, Gardenias, Butterfly bushes, and more. Located adjacent to the vortex, this is a beautiful spot for quiet reflection at the end of a beautiful day or just to relax.

Bonfires / Fire Pits

The dazzling beauty of the bonfires is truly a highlight at the retreat center. An incredible sense of human connectedness moves amongst bonfire gatherers and continues long after the last ember has spent its energy. Roasting marshmallows and making s’mores is a popular pastime of participants. Drumming and dancing around the fire is another favorite activity of some of our guests.

Designed for the comfort of our guests, the outdoor kitchen features a grill for outdoor cooking, a sink, and a table for two. The outdoor shower area comes replete with two outdoor shower stalls, two composting toilets, and one sink.

Situated adjacent to the labyrinth and the vortex, the Grove House is our primary retreat house.

Sleeping a total of 18 people, the Grove House is a spacious home for retreats or families. The first floor consists of three bedrooms and two full baths, along with a spacious, open kitchen and dining area with two large dining tables seating up to 12 people. The kitchen and dining area flow into the comfortable living room, giving guests plenty of room to spend time together.

With views of the labyrinth, the ceremonial dance arbor, and the vortex, the second floor of The Grove House also includes a library and sitting area in addition to two dorm-style bedrooms (one with five twin beds and the other with four twin beds and one full-sized bed). Each of the two bedrooms has its own half-bath.

The Log House

Lodging Capacity: 8

The Log House is a beautiful hand-built cabin with three bedrooms and two baths. It has a full-sized, well-stocked kitchen and a large, comfortable living room. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and the third bedroom has four twin beds. This home is great for families or small retreats. It has a spacious back porch with rocking chairs and a swing where most guests spend a lot of time enjoying the silence of the retreat center. and listening to the sounds of nature.

This rustic private cabin is ideal for an individual seeking a personal retreat or a couple looking for a romantic getaway.
